For free browser reading, PDF or webpage text is extracted and spoken on your device using the browser speech engine. The original PDF and extracted text are not sent to SpeakMyDoc servers for this flow.

Saved and paid workflows

When you choose to save a document, extracted text—not the original uploaded PDF—is stored with your account in our PostgreSQL database. Cloud voice generation sends the required text to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. Translation features send the required text to Google Cloud Translation.

Generated audio chunks and completed MP3 files are kept in private object storage. Download links and access are controlled by the signed-in account. Starter audio expires after 30 days and Pro audio after 90 days; users may delete saved documents from the library.

Service providers

• Vercel hosts the website and server functions.
• Neon provides the PostgreSQL database.
• Cloudflare R2 or compatible object storage holds generated audio.
• Google provides paid text-to-speech and translation processing.
• PayPal processes subscription payments; SpeakMyDoc does not receive full payment-card details.

Security boundaries

Traffic is served over HTTPS, private application routes require authentication, and user documents are not placed in the public sitemap or search metadata. No online service can promise absolute security; report a suspected issue through the contact form.
